Identity cards are issued by the Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket). You can use your identity card as proof of identity and age, for example, when picking up prescription medication from a pharmacy, paying with a credit card in stores, and for banking transactions. Since May 5, 2015, many Swedish banks, including Nordea Bank, require a Swedish identity card to open an account. You can open an account at any bank. Lund University pays salaries through Nordea Bank. Please note: If you have a child, they must be at least 13 years old to receive an identity card. In addition, parental\/guardian consent is required if you are under 18.<\/p>\n<p>PAY APPLICATION FEE<br \/>\nThe tax authority in Malm\u00f6 issues Swedish identity cards. To apply for an identity card, you must first pay an application fee of SEK 400. Pay your fee via one of the following accounts:<\/p>\n<p>When paying from a Swedish bank account:<\/p>\n<p>Please pay the registration fee using the bank code 389-0100 (Swedbank).<br \/>\nWhen paying from a foreign bank account, please use the following codes:<\/p>\n<p>Account number: 1281 012 161 3 (Danske Bank)<br \/>\nIBAN (International Bank Account Number): SE55 1200 0000 0128 1012 1613<br \/>\nSwift\/BIC: DABASESX<br \/>\nAddress: Danske Bank, Norrmalmstorg 1, 103 92, Stockholm, Sweden<br \/>\nPlease enter your personal identification number in the OCR field (as a reference number) or in the message field when paying via online banking. When using a deposit slip or at a kiosk or similar facility that offers direct debit payments, you must provide your personal identification number when making the payment.<\/p>\n<p>If you have not paid your application fee before your visit to the Malm\u00f6 Tax Office, you will not be able to submit your application. Please note that your payment will take at least one business day. Therefore, please pay the fee well in advance of your visit to the Tax Office to ensure it is received before you submit your application. Print and keep the payment receipt, as you will need to present it to the Tax Office. If paying online, please include your ID number in the message\/further information field.<\/p>\n<p>Make an appointment for your identity card application<\/p>\n<p>To apply for a Swedish identity card, you must make an appointment for a personal visit at one of the tax offices (Skatteverket). Only certain offices issue identity cards.<\/p>\n<p>Make an appointment to apply for an identity card<\/p>\n<p>Opening hours of the tax office in Malm\u00f6:<\/p>\n<p>Monday to Wednesday: 10:00 to 16:00<br \/>\nThursday: 10:00\u201318:00<br \/>\nFriday: 10:00\u201316:00<br \/>\nVisitor address: Kattsundsgatan 7, 211 26, Malm\u00f6<br \/>\nDirections: Take the train from Lund C to Malm\u00f6 C. Cross the bridge and continue on Bruksgatan. Turn left onto \u00d6stergatan and then right onto Kattsundsgatan (right next to the church). The Tax Office (Skatteverket) is on the right.<\/p>\n<p>WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING<br \/>\nEU and non-EU citizens must bring the following to the tax office (MALM\u00d6):<\/p>\n<p>Payment receipt for SEK 400 for a Swedish ID card (request a transfer form from Forex Bank or H\u00fclya Leeb-Lundberg or request a payment receipt for your personal online banking account)<br \/>\nValid passport (valid for at least 365 days)<br \/>\nEU passport issued from 1 September 2006<br \/>\nResidence permit (only for non-EU citizens)<br \/>\nIdentity card number (bring the \u201cFolkbokf\u00f6rings\u00e4rede Beslut\u201d document\/national registration notice you received from the tax office, which informs you of the allocation of your identity card number)<br \/>\nYour phone number (local, business or mobile)<br \/>\nYour residential address in Sweden (rental agreement)<br \/>\nYou sign your electronic card at the tax office.<br \/>\nIdentity cards from other countries are not valid.<\/p>\n<p>Please note: Identity cards from other countries are not recognized as identification documents and cannot be used as proof of identity. This is because identity cards do not fall under a common standard established by Council Regulation (EC) No. 2252\/2004 of the European Union.<\/p>\n<p>HOW TO GET YOUR ID CARD AS SOON AS IT&#039;S READY<br \/>\nIt usually takes about two weeks from application to collection at the tax office. However, it may take longer if certain information in your application needs to be verified more closely.
